Emergency telephone lines are once again operational after being offline all day because of “technical difficulties”.

The Bermuda Police Service said that the emergency 911 line and the non-emergency 211 line were back in service.

A police spokesman, however, warned that the main police line, 295-0011, remained down.

The spokesman said: “We continue to work on getting that number back on line.

“We apologise for any inconvenience which may have been caused while these number were out of service.

“Thank you for your patience and co-operation while we work to restore service to the main police number.”

Police warned shortly after 8am that all regular BPS telephone lines, as well as the emergency and non-emergency lines, had gone out of service.
