Sandys post office to close for renovations
The Mangrove Bay Post Office in Sandys will temporarily close its doors next month for “essential renovations”.
In a statement, the Bermuda Post Office said that the post office would close on September 12, with the work expected to be complete by March 2026.
A spokesman said: “The closure is necessary to improve safety and building conditions.
“This includes repairing holes, loose and rotten floorboards, concreting the floor, improving ventilation, replastering walls and making other essential structural improvements.
“These refurbishments have been planned for over a year, with the schedule determined by contractor availability.”
While the post office is closed, mail addressed to Mangrove Bay postboxes will be directed to the Southampton Post Office for customer pick-up.
However, because of space constraints at the Southampton Post Office, parcel deliveries sent to Mangrove Bay will be directed to the Warwick Post Office.
“The Bermuda Post Office thanks the public for their patience and understanding as we complete these critical safety and infrastructure improvements,” the spokesman added.
“During this period, customers are encouraged to plan accordingly and visit alternative locations for postal services.”
