Women can learn more about a self-development programme designed to help them heal and thrive when an information session is held tomorrow.

The Women’s Resource Centre invited potential participants of the scheme — Transform — to attend the event at its base in Hamilton.

Its programme aims to equip women aged between 25 and 40 with the tools they need to break cycles of trauma, strengthen emotional resilience and achieve sustainable change.

Combining individual counselling, life skills workshops, education and mentorship, it is designed for those who seek to “heal, grow and build a life they love”.

Juanae Crockwell, the WRC’s executive director, said: “Transform is about so much more than counselling sessions. It’s about creating space for women to access the support and tools they need to build lives that are safe, sustainable and deeply fulfilling.

“It also represents an opportunity for us, as a community, to reimagine what meaningful support looks like — taking a holistic approach that nurtures the whole person.

“Through Transform, women receive not only therapeutic care, but also practical life tools, mentorship and educational opportunities — resources that equip them to create a future they can step into with confidence and pride.”

The programme, now in its second year, is sponsored by HSBC Bermuda, which also provides financial literacy and career workshops. Staff at the bank have also joined the programme as mentors.

Yolanda Outerbridge, the executive sponsor for programme, highlighted that the partnership is not just about providing financial support.

She explained: “At the heart of our commitment to social impact is the belief that every woman deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of the obstacles she has faced.

“Through dedicated financing, subject matter expertise in delivering workshops and mentorship, we’re proud to support women who are turning adversity into strength, and potential into progress.

“Their resilience inspires us and their success uplifts the entire community.”

Programme phases

Phase 1: one-on-one counselling and emotional support

Phase 2: life skills workshops and continued counselling

Phase 3: mentorship and sponsorship towards education or training programmes

Transform conducted its pilot cohort last year, when ten women graduated with “greater clarity, confidence and emotional wellbeing”.

Some participants went on to pursue higher education, new careers, entrepreneurship and stronger relationships.

“We’ve watched women come into this programme unsure of themselves, overwhelmed and unsupported,” Ms Crockwell said.

“These same women have walked out nine months later with renewed confidence and hope for their future.

“Transform is proof that with the right support, healing and thriving are possible.”

The information session will give prospective participants a chance to learn about the programme structure, eligibility and application process.

It will be held tomorrow from 6pm at the WRC at Sofia House, 48 Church Street.

The charity thanked HSBC for sponsoring and supporting the Transform programme.
