A discussion at the Bermuda National Library will highlight the role essential workers played during the coronavirus.

Cordell Riley, of Citizens Uprooting Racism in Bermuda, will lead the free hour-long dialogue “The true worth of essential workers: lessons from the pandemic” from 12.30pm on September 17.

A statement from the charity said: “The Covid-19 pandemic revealed a hard truth — those most essential to our daily lives are often the least visible, valued or fairly compensated.

“This lunch and learn will explore how ‘essential’ work was defined, the gap between treatment and contribution, and the economic and social value of roles often seen as low status.”

Only library members can attend the event, but people can visit bnl.bm to enrol with the library for free and register for the discussion via lp.constantpages.com.
