Finish line nears for St George’s mural

A mural at Penno’s Wharf in St George’s should be completed this month after delays due to bad weather.

The Bermuda Tourism Authority said last week that work on the large-scale art piece by Carlos Santana had been delayed by heavy rain but it hoped the mural would be completed by September 20.

The comments came after the Corporation of St George said in its September newsletter that the project would be “restaged” after a review by the BTA.

A BTA spokeswoman said that an announcement would be made soon regarding “augmented reality innovations” at another East End mural created by Shanna Hollis in St George’s Town Square as part of a partnership with Norwegian Cruise Lines.

She added: “We’re excited to see these public art projects coming to life in St George’s and the partnerships that are helping to make them possible.”
