Somerset Bridge Recreation Club has encouraged the community to turn out and help spruce up White Hill Field this weekend.

Teresa Burrows, the president of the club, said the executive and management had worked to bring the club and community together for the clean-up on Saturday and Sunday.

She explained: “It has been a pleasure to witness the growth of our club and its members and I believe in the importance of fostering a sense of togetherness, especially during times of division among our youth.”

The clean-up will prepare the grounds for the upcoming football season and provides a chance for students to earn community service hours and the community to meet the new club executive.

Ms Burrows added: “Let’s come together to mend our bridges, maintain our club and ensure it remains a welcoming space for all our future endeavours.”

Lunch will be served after the clean-ups, which will take place from 8am to 2pm on Saturday and Sunday.
