New story programme launches on Tuesday

New programme: Little Listeners launches at 10am on Tuesday, October 7, at the Bermuda National Library and is a free interactive story time for children between age 2 and 4 and their caregivers

The Department of Health’s new story time programme aims to build toddlers’ and preschoolers’ social skills.

A spokeswoman said the Little Listeners programme, aimed at children aged two to four and their caregivers, will debut at the Florenz Webbe Maxwell Youth Library at 10am on October 7.

The spokeswoman added: “Led by health visitor Deana Roberts, the sessions will encourage early childhood development through stories, music and playful activities.

“Little Listeners is designed to spark young imaginations, build social skills and provide caregivers, including parents, grandparents and nannies, with a welcoming space to connect with one another and with a Department of Health nurse.”

Participants will engage in a free activity that combines learning fun and community connection during each hour-long programme, which will take place on the first Tuesday of every month until March 3.
