In plein sight! Artists drawn to the beauty of Olde Towne

Plein air

For more than 20 years, the Plein Air Group of Bermuda, which started in Jonah Jones’s backyard in Somerset, has painted at diverse locations around the island.

For its latest round, the Town of St George got a “splash of colour”, the group said, with 52 artists from “near and far” turning out to capture the sights on canvas.

The group looked east to take inspiration from the cobblestones and sea views around the Olde Towne.

Their completed works are now on display at the Bermuda Society of Arts Gallery at City Hall in Hamilton.
