Pupils of a preschool in Smith’s were treated at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club this week as part of an annual Hallowe’en tradition.

The visit to the resort by the 46 children of the First Friends Nursery and Preschool was the culmination of a train-ride event that dates back to about 2013, Desirée Mathis, a co-owner of the school, said.

Each year around Hallowe’en, the children — accompanied by their parents, grandparents and the school’s teachers — visit the hotel aboard the Bermuda Train Company's red train.

“It’s a nice field trip for the children,” Ms Mathis told The Royal Gazette.

She added that arrangements for the annual event were made with the resort weeks in advance to ensure everything was in place for the trip.

Ms Mathis said that the children and their parents or guardians also took photographs with the resort’s staff, who handed out treats, before boarding the train for a ride through Hamilton on their way back to the school.
