Mail service to Canada set for resumption
Mail shipments to Canada are set to resume next week as the Canada Post strike continues on a rolling basis.
A spokeswoman for the Bermuda Post Office said that, while it will resume mail shipments to Canada on Monday, delivery delays may still occur because of disruptions.
She added: “The BPO appreciates the public’s patience and co-operation during this time.”
Mail delivery services from Bermuda to Canada were suspended in late September as a result of a nationwide strike at Canada Post.
Last month the Canadian Union of Postal Workers announced that it would suspend the national strike in favour of a rotating strike, allowing mail delivery to resume.
The Bermuda Post Office also announced that all local post offices will close at noon tomorrow for a staff event.
The spokeswoman said: “The BPO apologises for any inconvenience this early closure may cause.”
