Plugged in: game design competition returns
Aspiring game designers have been challenged to make their vision a reality at the Fourth Annual Video Game Design Challenge.
The two-day event, hosted by the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation, is intended for students, hobbyists and aspiring game developers to learn, design and create their own video games in a single weekend.
Adrian Lodge, the event’s founder, said: “The goal of the challenge is to inspire Bermuda’s youth to explore the world of game design and technology.
“We want to show that games are not just for entertainment — they’re also a powerful way to learn coding, design and storytelling skills that can lead to real careers.”
As part of the challenge, participants are given a secret theme and are tasked with designing an innovative and creative game that fits it.
The event is sponsored by the Economic Development Department alongside partners Barritts and the BEDC.
The challenge will take place on November 21 and 22. Those interested can register online at www.bermudaislandgames.com. Registration costs $30 with food included.
