Island to explore ‘alternative forms of construction’

The planning department is seeking feedback from the community on the possibility of adopting “convenient and cost-effective” new construction methods.

A spokesman acknowledged that alternatives had a potential for “a cumulative impact on the visual character of our island”.

He added: “Public input is therefore essential in helping to guide future policy decisions in this area.”

The survey, which can be found on the department’s website as well as its Facebook page, remains open until December 5.

Diallo Rabain, the Minister of the Cabinet Office and Digital Innovation, said responses would play “an important role in shaping the department’s policy direction”.

The department can be reached for details by calling 297-7756.
