High holiday: City prepares 40ft Christmas tree
The City of Hamilton is preparing to debut its biggest Christmas tree yet as the municipality gears up for the holiday season.
Staff worked yesterday to piece together the frame of its new 40ft artificial tree outside City Hall.
The new tree was designed in collaboration with the Gibbons Company and will feature custom Bermuda-themed decorations,
It is to stand as the centrepiece of the upcoming Rockin’ Around the City Tree.
The event, which will take place between 6.30pm and 9pm on November 28, will feature live performances, fireworks, free hot chocolate and photo ops with Santa Claus.
A City spokeswoman announced last year that the former tree would be retired after 13 years, stating that while it was still “stunning and magical”, they hoped to update it before signs of wear became noticeable.
