Public invited to take part in electoral reform discussions
Residents have been invited to take part in talks about how voting processes can be made easier, fairer and more accessible for all Bermudians.
Diallo Rabain, the Minister for the Cabinet Office and Digital Innovation, will host a public town hall meeting on Monday to discuss electoral reform and gather input.
He said: “Democracy works best when everyone has a voice.
“I encourage residents to join us and share their ideas, their concerns and their hopes for how we can strengthen Bermuda’s elections.
“Your participation is essential as we work to build a system that is fair, accessible and reflective of the people it serves.”
During the meeting, topics up for discussion will include absentee voting, campaign financing and voter confidentiality.

• Establishing clear and transparent standards for political parties and campaign financing
• Keeping the voters’ rolls accurate, private and transparent
• Embracing practical modernisation of our electoral systems and technology
• Setting consistent and fair rules for polling day administration
A ministry spokesman said: “This engagement session forms part of the Government's ongoing work to modernise Bermuda's electoral system and strengthen public participation in the democratic process.
“A strong democracy relies on the voices of its people and this forum offers an opportunity for residents to share their perspectives and learn more about potential improvements to election administration.”
The town hall meeting will feature a brief presentation, followed by a moderated forum allowing attendees to ask questions and contribute to the conversation.
It will be held on Monday from 6pm to 8pm at the Harrington Workmen’s Club.
