The Government reiterated its commitment to encourage inclusion and protect rights as it marks International Day of Persons with Disabilities tomorrow.

A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Youth, Social Development and Seniors said that this year’s theme is “fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress”.

She added: “Persons with disabilities continue to face barriers in accessing education, employment, public services and community life.

“The ministry remains committed to promoting inclusion, safeguarding rights and advancing policies that support equal opportunities for all.

“This day calls on everyone to take part in building communities that are accessible, inclusive and compassionate.”

The ministry called on the public to advocate for improved access, share stories that uplift the voices of those with disabilities, celebrate disability achievements and support organisations that champion disability rights and services.

She added: “On this International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we stand with all individuals living with disabilities and reaffirm our commitment to building a society in which no one is left behind.”
