Premier meets with Bermudian students in London
David Burt, the Premier, met with more than 70 young Bermudians in England last week at a special networking dinner for students and recent graduates.
The event on November 28 was also attended by Kim Wilkerson, the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Jason Hayward, the Minister for Economy and Labour and other government officials who were in the UK for the recent Joint Delegates Conference.
A government spokeswoman said Mr Burt spoke with attendees about issues such as the cost of living in Bermuda, gang violence and absentee voting.
Mr Burt said: “Our annual student reception brings together Bermudian students and recent graduates, allowing ministers to hear directly from Bermuda’s next generation of leaders.
“It was great to be joined by the Attorney-General and Mr Hayward as we engaged with a talented and diverse group of young Bermudians.”
Kimberly Durrant, UK representative for the Government of Bermuda and the director of the London Office, added: “The London Office remains committed to supporting Bermudians overseas.
“The annual networking dinner provides a valuable platform for attendees to share experiences and discuss their future aspirations with government officials.
“We encourage those interested in attending future events to register with the London Office.”
