A welcome financial boost came to the Bermuda Foster Parents Association after a Hamilton bar and lounge joined forces with an LGBTQ+ community group to show a little love.

Love Is Love Bermuda raised $2,000 through a charity raffle for the organisation, which supports foster families and helps bring joy and stability into young people’s lives.

The group said it managed to make the timely donation despite a setback following the cancellation of its Ugly Sweater Brunch due to insufficient ticket sales.

Thanks to Casey’s Lounge, patrons purchased close to $1,000 worth of raffle tickets — and an anonymous donor made a generous donation, in Iight of the innovative fundraiser getting called off.

Love is Love purchased two P-Tech gift cards for electronics and a gift certificate to Gibbons company for ornaments.

The remainder of funds went to Belco and MarketPlace gift cards to assist foster parents over the holidays.

Christopher Douglas, cofounder of Love is Love Bermuda, applauded Casey’s for pitching in.
