A teenager has thanked her family and the community for helping making her seniors Christmas party a success.

Naché Anderson-Clarke, 15, took over organising the annual event from her grandmother, Carol Clarke, last year.

Andrew Murdoch, the Governor, joined about 250 attendees at CedarBridge Academy for the event on December 6.

Naché said: “My favourite part from this year’s event had to be the fact that we were able to accommodate more people and hearing the positive feedback from the seniors community.”

Several performers, including singers Lisa Trott and Gary Bean, poets Ms Clarke and Vernette Dorian, and the Radnor Road Christian Fellowship entertained seniors during the event, themed “A New Legacy”.

Shuttle buses took attendees from the Hamilton terminal to CedarBridge for the party starting at 10.15am.

Naché told attendees: “Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to support my event — it means so much that you were there and I really hope that you enjoyed the event.”

She also thanked her family, sponsors and everyone who volunteered their time.
