Cost of living savings directory launched
An online tool has been launched to help consumers find the best deals across a wide range of products.
The Savings Directory is a government initiative described as a one-stop hub for verified discounts and savings programmes across Bermuda. It can be found at www.costofliving.gov.bm.
The platform supports the Government’s cost of living relief agenda and brings together general retail discounts, membership benefits and special pricing from local organisations and businesses.
It also includes a dedicated Seniors Savings section to help older Bermudians find age-specific offers in one place.
Alexa Lightbourne, the Minister of Home Affairs, said: “Every dollar matters, and more importantly, this is one way that our seniors can make their pensions go further.
“Relief must be practical, relief must be easy to find and this online tool puts clear, verified savings in one place so families can buy with confidence.”
Businesses, organisations and service providers offering discounts or savings programmes have been invited to submit their listings by sending an e-mail to mhahq@gov.bm.
They should include:
• Name of company or organisation
• Description of the discount or savings opportunity
• Website or link to the offer (if available)
• Time frame/validity period
• Any additional details or document/s for public reference
The directory displays offers focused on basic needs and everyday purchases as well as “clearly labelled” categories and filters, including Seniors Savings, a government spokeswoman said.
It also features links that take residents directly to participating organisation’s offer page or contact.
The ministry encouraged businesses to get involved in the online feature.
