Friends of Hospice renamed to reflect wider mission
A charity that supported Agape House for more than three decades has been renamed in an effort to better align the title with its mission.
Friends of Hospice announced today that it has become Compassionate Care Partners.
The charity said that the new name was intended to better reflect the ethos of person-directed care embraced by the organisation.
Although it will offer a broader range of services, the charity said its dedication to supporting and developing palliative care in Bermuda was unwavering.
Jennifer Mahoney, the executive director of CCP, said: “The vision of the charity is to ensure ‘exceptional and unconditional care for all’.
“Each part of our new name is reflective of various key elements that our community can expect from us; compassion, care and partnership.
“These are all elements that we should receive when care is being provided.”
The name change comes as the charity continues work on the Woodland Grove Care Centre on Spice Hill Road, a facility that is intended to provide a wealth of services including residential care for seniors.
Zach Moniz, the CCP chairman, said: “This change marks yet another exciting new chapter for our organisation.
“It better represents who we are today, where we’re headed in the future and our commitment to enhancing local care.”
