Nominations open for Woman of the Year
Nominations for the 2026 Woman of the Year award are officially open.
The winner will be announced at the Women’s Resources Centre’s annual International Women’s Day celebration on March 6 at Pier 6.
Tickets are available for the event, which will run from 8am to 11am.
The WRC described the award as “a distinguished honour recognising an exceptional woman whose leadership, service and commitment have made a meaningful impact in Bermuda”.
Juanae Crockwell, the charity’s executive director, said: “This year’s celebration is guided by the global International Women’s Day theme, ‘Give to Gain’.
“It will bring together community members, partners and supporters to reflect on the importance of investing in women, equity and collective wellbeing.
“While International Women’s Day is celebrated globally on March 8, this event will be held on March 6 as part of our local commemoration.”
To be eligible, nominees must be female or identify as female, and have Bermudian status or citizenship.
They must demonstrate community impact through voluntary service, professional achievements, advocacy efforts or similar work that has positively affected the community, especially in areas such as women’s empowerment, social justice, education, health or cultural development.
Any nominees must consent to being nominated.
Ms Crockwell added: “Members of the public, organisations and community groups are encouraged to participate in the nomination process, and recognise women whose dedication embodies leadership and service.”
