A man sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash in Devonshire in the early hours today.

Police and emergency personnel were dispatched to the incident near the roundabout at the bottom of Barker’s Hill, North Shore Road, at about 3.35am.

A spokesman for the Bermuda Police Service said: “It was reported that a male motorcycle rider was found lying on the roadway. He had sustained serious head injuries.

“He was unresponsive and appeared to be having difficulty breathing.

“The injured male was attended to at the scene by EMTs before being transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.”

The roadway, which was blocked off to vehicular traffic while the scene was processed, has reopened. Eastbound traffic was diverted over Barker’s Hill and on to Middle Road. Westbound traffic was diverted over Store Hill and on to Middle Road.
