Events planned to celebrate and empower women
Women can explore mental health, menopause, nutrition and other topics at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute on Wednesday.
The “Women Lifting Women Wellness Fair”, organised by the Public Service International Women’s Day committee, will also feature wellness screenings, a testimonial panel, a fireside chat and resource booths.
The fair, set to start at 11am, is one of two events aimed at highlighting women in the public service ahead of International Women’s Day on March 8.
Cherie Whitter, head of the public service, said: “This year the Public Service IWD 2026 programme is designed to encourage women public officers to invest time and energy in their personal wellbeing, professional growth and meaningful connection.”
Minibuses will take attendees from Global House to BUEI every 15 minutes throughout the wellness fair until 3.15pm.
Women across the island are invited to register for the “Bigger! Better! Louder!” wellness walk via form.jotform.com.
Walkers start out from the Cabinet building starting at midday and head along Front Street to Queen Street, up Church Street, down Court Street and back to the Cabinet.
Participants from last year can wear the same T-shirts, but additional ones can be collected at the Ministry of Health headquarters between 11am and 1pm on Monday.
Ms Whitter said: “Whether participating in the wellness fair, the wellness walk, or both, women are encouraged to prioritise their health, expand their knowledge and connect with colleagues who help make Bermuda’s public service stronger every day.”
