Bermudians in Middle East urged to take shelter

Bermudians in the Middle East have been urged to shelter in place in the wake of a series of missile attacks in the region.

A government spokeswoman said this afternoon: “Bermudians in the Middle East region must follow travel advice from the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office.

“Due to missile attacks, shelter in place. Affected individuals are encouraged to remain indoors in a secure location, avoid all travel and follow instructions from the local authorities.”

Bermudians in Bahrain, Israel, Palestine, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates were urged to register their locations with the FCDO online.

Bermudians were also advised to register with the Government of Bermuda’s London Office at www.bdalondonoffice.co.uk or by e-mailing londonoffice@gov.bm.
