Bermudian academics invited to apply for British fellowship
Academics have been invited to join an international fellowship and offer archival expertise to the British Library.
The Chevening Overseas Territories in the Atlantic and Caribbean British Library Fellowship is accepting applications for a fully funded yearlong fellowship for the successful applicant.
The opportunity to work with the institution is being offered through Government House.
A Government House spokeswoman said: “This unique opportunity is open to one exceptional candidate who can bring their expertise to the British Library and help redefine how this world-leading cultural institution collects, preserves and represents the Caribbean and Atlantic Overseas Territories in its collections.”
The opportunity is open to mid-career professionals from Anguilla, Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, Cayman Island, Falkland Islands, Montserrat, St Helena and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
The successful applicant will be exposed to valuable artefacts pertaining to their regional history and have the chance to publish blogs on behalf of the world-renowned institution and have a heightened academic presence.
The fellowship includes a yearlong placement at the British Library, living expenses for the duration of the fellowship, return economy airfare and an allowance package for fellowship-related activities.
He or she will also get a maximum allowance of £1,000, or about $1,323, for approved project-related expenses.
