Pembroke school debuts mascot, Scotty
Victor Scott Primary School this week unleashed its new school mascot, “Scotty”, at a special assembly with Michael Weeks, the Minister of National Security.
The mascot was formally named on Tuesday after a school-wide effort intended to allow students to shape a new tradition for the school.
Mr Weeks, who attended the school as a child, said it was an honour to return and join in a “proud and joyful” moment for the institution.
He added: “It was wonderful to see the students so engaged in the naming process and so excited to welcome Scotty as part of their school identity.
“I also want to acknowledge Aaron Lugo for creating the original bulldog design that helped shape this mascot, and Ann Williams, para educator, for the work she did to build on that idea, organise the school-wide competition and help turn it into a moment the students could truly enjoy and remember.”
