The island’s LGBTQ+ charity has announced that “Deep Roots” is the theme of this year’s Bermuda Pride.

OutBermuda said that the words reflect the community’s firm presence in Bermuda’s culture.

The group said the LGBTQ+ community has always been a part of the “social and cultural fabric of the island”.

“Deep Roots”, it added, honoured the community’s presence and future in Bermuda while acting as an invitation for everyone to feel secure on the island.

OutBermuda said: “It seeks to honour the quiet courage and efforts of those who came before us, ground the community of today in their identities, and promise a future of growth.”

The charity added: “Taking inspiration from Bermuda’s natural environment, the theme also speaks to resilience as, just like local flora, roots are built to withstand the unique storms that the LGBTQ+ community face.”

The 2026 Bermuda Pride Parade will take place on July 4, with other events set for June and July.
