A global reinsurance firm has donated $20,000 to help an LGBTQ+ charity in Bermuda continue its education and advocacy programming.

Fortitude Re announced the grant to OutBermuda through its Fortitude Re 4 Good community partnership programme.

The contribution includes the company’s annual Rainbow sponsorship of Bermuda Pride, as well as support for OutBermuda's educational programming and advocacy initiatives.

As part of its commitment to the organisation, Fortitude Re employees volunteered at the Bermuda Pride Parade on Saturday.

Alon Neches, chief executive of Fortitude Re, said: “OutBermuda's work reflects many of the same principles that guide our commitment to the communities where we live and work. We are honoured to support OutBermuda’s mission and the positive impact the organisation continues to make across Bermuda.”

Joshua Samuels, executive director of OutBermuda, added: “Pride creates vital space for LGBTQ+ people in Bermuda to feel seen, valued, safe and celebrated, and this support also helps fund OutBermuda’s year-round programmes, advocacy and community work.”
