Carey Olsen pledges three-year support for Bermuda Pride
Carey Olsen has made a pledge to OutBermuda, signing on as a “rainbow sponsor” for the Bermuda Pride event for three years.
A spokesman for the charity said this was a landmark moment for OutBermuda, the island’s only charity dedicated to LGBTQ+ people and is the driving force behind the annual Bermuda Pride event.
The first such event took place in 2019. Since then, it has grown to include a wide range of activities including a cruise, drag brunch, an open mike, a panel discussion, a parade and this year, an art exhibition.
Carey Olsen has been a sponsor of Bermuda Pride since 2022 and has been a rainbow sponsor, the highest level of sponsorship, for three years.
Joshua Samuels, executive director of OutBermuda said: “By making a three-year pledge, Carey Olsen is investing in our future. As a growing charity, this helps give us some security and the ability to better plan for the future, knowing that we have Carey Olsen’s unwavering support.”
The funds raised during Bermuda Pride help to fund OutBermuda’s year-round initiatives. This includes support work such as subsidised counselling with Solstice Bermuda and distributing empowerment grants to the community, educational training for schools and businesses as well as OutBermuda’s advocacy work.
