Former Flatts railway station available for lease
The Government is looking to lease out a vacant building that used to serve as a railway station.
In a recent notice, the Ministry of Public Lands and Buildings sought informal tenders for the leasing of the Flatts Railway Station on North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish.
The notice highlighted that the single-storey building has electricity, but no water supply, and was previously used as a workshop.
The building also served as the Bermuda Railway Museum and Curiosity Shop, which highlighted the history of the island’s railway which operated from 1931 to 1948.
The notice also said the building is a part of the National Park Railway Trail, so applicants should consider how it could complement the parks system.
The property will be available for viewing on several dates in August, with proposals to be submitted no later than 3pm on September 4.
