A team of 24 young athletes competing in seven sports will represent Bermuda in the Junior Pan American Games in Paraguay in August.

Held every four years, the inaugural Games took place in Colombia in 2021 and the athletes this year will be hoping to emulate cyclist Kaden Hopkins, who won Bermuda’s first medal at the event when winning a silver medal. in the time-trial.

National junior champion Charlotte Millington will be the island’s only cyclist in action in Asuncion this summer and she will be joined by 12 individual athletes and the men’s rugby sevens team.

Jaydon Roberts and Robin Selley will compete in archery and the pair are excited to test themselves against some of the best young archers in the region.

“I’m glad that I have the opportunity to represent Bermuda at the 2025 Pan Am Junior Games,” said Roberts.

“This is my second Games and I am returning stronger, sharper, and ready to surpass my past self.”

Selley will be competing at the event for the first time and will be trying to contain her excitement for the next few weeks.

"I'm so excited to represent Bermuda at the Pan Am Junior Games,“ Selley said.

“This is a goal I have been working hard towards and I am so grateful for this opportunity.”

Bermuda’s best hopes of a medal could be in the water as Sebastian Kempe, a former world junior champion, competes in sailing alongside Nicole Stovell.

“I'm excited to take part in the Junior Pan Ams this August to experience sailing in Paraguay for the first time and grow closer with my sport and my competitors,” Stovell said.

Teenager Oliver Betschart will take part in golf, with Caitlyn Bobb and Nirobi Smith-Mills set to showcase their talent on the track.

Peter Dunne, president of the Bermuda Olympic Association is proud Bermuda are sending a huge team of talented youngsters to represent the island on the international stage.
