Slow start for Sims

Michael Sims made a sluggish start to the News Sentinel Open in Knoxville, Tennessee, yesterday.
The Bermuda professional shot a level-par 72 to finish tied for 108 after a first round in which co-leaders Sunghoon Kang and John Mallinger both fired nine-under par 63s.
Sims’ typically up and down round included four bogeys and four birdies and saw him take 30 putts over the 18 holes.
Starting on the 10 hole, Sims was quickly in trouble, dropping shots at 12 and 13, but got one back just before the turn with a birdie at the par-three 17.
His front nine was little better, with birdies at one, five and six, cancelled out by bogeys as holes four and eight.
