Daniel Augustus found the going tough yesterday in the first round of the South Carolina Open at the Columbia Country Club in Blythewood, South Carolina.

The Bermudian professional was 58th after carding a three-over-par 75, which included an eagle, a birdie, four bogeys and a double bogey.

Augustus, who is making his debut at the GPro Tour-sanctioned event, struggled most on the front nine, which he played at three over, despite rolling in an eagle at the par-five 3rd hole.

He fared much better coming in, playing the final nine holes at even par.

The field will be cut today after the second round of the 54-hole championship.
