Dylan Muso seizes narrow lead after first round in Fecchio Cup
Dylan Muso shot 65 to take an overnight one-shot lead over Camilo Legere on the opening day of the Fecchio Cup Junior Tournament at Turtle Hill Golf Club yesterday.
Arman Newton is in third place in the competitive Blue Division for players aged between 14 and 18 after a round of 67.
With the three not that far apart, the final day of action today promises to be exciting.
In the White Division (11-13), the same pattern applies, with Lachlan Soutter leading by one shot with a first-round score of 70. Lewis MacFarlane is one shot back after firing a first-round 71 and Charlie Smith closely following with 72.
In the Stableford competition, Jude Espley-Ault recorded 13 points, which leads the Red Division by six points over Oliver Thompson. In the Gold Division, Hugo Adams (21) holds a narrow one-point lead over Jack Jones, with Oliver James rounding out the top three with 19.
A total of 34 golfers are taking part in the four divisions of the junior tournament that is making a return after a five-year absence. Golfers had to contend with strong winds on the first day, with similar conditions expected today.
