Bart and Betschart in contention for title with one round to play
Local players Johnny Bart and Oliver Betschart are still in with a chance of pulling off a home win in the Butterfield Bermuda Junior Championship with a round to play.
Heading into the final 18 holes on Sunday, Bart is best placed of the Bermuda contingent after following an opening round of 73 on Friday with the same score on Saturday.
That puts him in a tie for fourth place in the 48-strong field on 4 over, four shots behind clubhouse leader Fletcher Finch, from Alabama in the United States.
Betschart is a shot behind Bart and in a tie for sixth on 5 over with his second round of 74 coming after an opening round of 73.
Bart and Betschart will be playing in the same group on the final day with a tee time of 9.40am on Sunday.
Arman Newton, the only other local player in the boys event, is tied for 33rd on 17 over after shooting 78 in round two.
Darina Betschart is tied for nineteenth in the girls division after two rounds of 83.
