Search on to honour the best pharmacists
Pharmacists who go beyond the call of duty are to be honoured with a Public Health Award this year.
A ministerial statement by Health Minister Zane DeSilva also revealed that National Public Health Week will run from April 4 to 8. The theme this year is antibiotic awareness. Mr DeSilva called for nominations of pharmacists to be submitted to the Health Promotion Office before March 31.
The awards are to be presented on April 7, which is World Health Day.
“This year, we are asking the public to nominate pharmacists whose actions, they feel, have made a significant contribution to improving the health in our community,” Mr DeSilva said.
Nominees must be currently practising pharmacists who are involved in community service, and who demonstrate leadership.
