Covid-19 results delayed

People received their Covid-19 results late because of a problem with an external mail server. The Ministry of Health added that the daily results breakdown from yesterday would be released to the media today, a day later than normal.A spokeswoman said last night: “We are unable to provide full details of today’s test results, as they are still being processed.“However, we must emphasise the importance of following public health guidelines, particularly recently arrived travellers who are under self-quarantine, to remain in your accommodation until you receive a negative test result.“We are aware that some people have not yet received their results. This has been due to a technical problem with an external mail server, however we are working through that issue and persons are receiving their results now.”The online news site TNN Bermuda reported last night that a “substantial number of positive cases” were recorded yesterday and that four people were in hospital with the coronavirus. The Royal Gazette has asked for a response from the Ministry of Health.Bermuda had six active cases when the last update was provided on Thursday. The spokeswoman said: “These are all in isolation and their contacts are being traced. Nevertheless, we cannot be too careful and we ask the whole community to take preventive measures, wear your masks in public places, wash your hands and maintain physical distance from others.”
