An online portal will be launched today for health professionals to pay registration application fees.

The Bermuda Health Council announced its move to the new system yesterday.

It said: “The online payment portal allows regulated health professionals to submit payment for their registration application in minutes and no account set-up is required.

“Applicants should submit their application prior to making payment.

“A link to the payment portal is provided once a registration application is submitted.”

The system will mean that health professionals can pay registration fees online, view and receive automatic receipts and get notified when payments are completed.

A BHeC statement added: “The health council would like to notify all registered psychologists, pharmacists, allied health professionals, dental practitioners, optometrists and opticians that renewal fees must be paid before the respective registration renewal deadline.

“If payment is not made prior to the registration expiration date, you will be required to pay an additional late registration fee and you will not be considered legally registered to practice your profession.

“Continuing to practice without a valid registration is a criminal offence.”
