People invited to learn about CPR at free event marking heart month

People can learn more about a life-saving medical technique during an event at Queen Elizabeth Park this week.

Staff from the Evolution Healing Centre will host the free event to commemorate heart month.

Physiotherapists from the organisation will be near the park’s Queen Street entrance on Friday from 2.30pm until 4.30pm, to inform people about CPR and answer any questions they might have.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is a life-saving procedure performed when the hearts stops beating.

Performing the technique and using a defibrillator can double or triple the chances of a person’s survival after they go into cardiac arrest.
