Two deaths reported in weekly Covid-19 update

Health officials have reported two more deaths from Covid-19 in the past nine days, bringing the total fatalities over the three-year pandemic to 165.

One person is being treated in hospital for the virus, and there are nine other confirmed cases that do not require hospital treatment.

At the last update on March 22, the island’s death toll from the virus also rose by two,

At that time, there were three people being treated in hospital for Covid-19, and a further ten active cases known in the community.

The Government’s release of figures for the virus switched this week from a Wednesday update to Friday.

The latest announcement brings the total deaths attributed to Covid-19 to five for the month of March.
