Health ministry to screen film about adolescence

The Ministry of Health will screen a popular movie to reduce stigma surrounding mental health.

A free screening of Inside Out 2 will take place at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute tomorrow.

A ministry spokeswoman explained: “This event, hosted as part of Bermuda’s mental health anti-stigma campaign, is designed to help young people aged 10 to 15 years better understand their emotional wellbeing in a supportive, engaging environment.”

Mental health advocates will provide tips on how to handle growing up during a panel discussion after the screening.

Kim Wilson, the Minister of Health, said: “The Youth Mental Health Team that has led the planning of this event wanted to ensure that a safe, welcoming space for young people was created, where they could learn about their emotions, connect with others and gain tools to support their mental wellbeing.”

Check-in is at 4pm, 30 minutes before the screening starts, and the panel discussion, expected to last 40 minutes, will begin at 6.30pm.
