An oncologist is the new chief executive of the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre.

Chris Fosker, who has served as the medical director of the charity since 2016, was named designate CEO in November and fully stepped into the role in April.

He remains the medical director and succeeds Lynne Woolridge, who retired as CEO in March.

Dr Fosker said: “As an independent medical centre and registered charity, we are uniquely positioned to serve the community by offering accessible, evidence-based care.

“I look forward to working with our team, our partners and the public to ensure that every person in Bermuda has access to the care they need, close to home and when they need it most.”

He added that the BCHC will continue working with organisations such as Pals and the Bermuda Hospitals Board to “support continuity of care for patients along the cancer pathway”.

Glen Gibbons, the president of the BCHC board of governors, said Dr Fosker’s leadership “combines deep clinical expertise with a clear vision for innovation and equitable health access — we are excited to begin this new chapter under his guidance”.
