Travel clinic fully booked for two months

The Department of Health has urged people to book appointments at its travel health clinic months ahead of leaving Bermuda.

A spokeswoman said the clinic on Victoria Street faced “exceptionally high demand for consultations and travel-related vaccinations”, with appointments fully booked for July and August.

She explained: “Due to the nature of many vaccines, which require multiple doses and time to become fully effective, travellers are strongly encouraged to book appointments at least two to three months prior to departure.

“As international travel increases, advance preparation is more important than ever.”

The public can call 444-0720 for a booking. Although staff will try to accommodate extra appointments during July and August, some may be placed on a waiting list.
