Health ministry launches free gardening workshops
A free workshop will teach people how to grow their own food and save money.
A statement from the Ministry of Health said participants will learn about soil preparation, planting seedlings, composting and other skills during the nine-week “Grow Eat $ave” programme.
Kevin Santucci, along with guest instructors, will facilitate the sessions every Thursday from September 11 to November 13.
Kim Wilson, the Minister of Health, said: “The Grow, Eat, $ave programme is about more than gardening, it’s about empowering families to take control of their health and security.
“By learning these skills, participants can enjoy fresh, nutritious produce while saving money.”
The workshops are set to run from 5.30pm to 6.30pm, from a yet-to-be determined location.
Participants must attend all sessions from September 18 and have until September 12 to register at forms.office.com/r/Ud2g6hNXZ.
Spaces are limited, and a fee may apply for some gardening activities.
