The drop-off and collection point for the hospital’s emergency department will be moved temporarily, the Bermuda Hospitals Board advised today.

From Monday, the alternative location will be in front of the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital acute care wing’s main entrance.

Ambulances will use the usual drop-off area immediately in front of the emergency department.

A BHB spokeswoman said the switch was approved to help with necessary upgrades to the emergency department.

Signs and traffic cones will be in place to guide vehicles and show parking zones.

On-site security personnel will also assist with traffic flow and make sure of minimal disruption, with attendees asked to adhere to their directions.

The BHB spokeswoman said the change will be in effect for one week before the drop-off and collection point returns to normal on September 15.
