Residents have been invited to attend a series of events to mark Celebrating Wellness Week this month.

The Department of Health will host the events under the theme “Engage, Empower, Elevate: Working together to improve health and wellbeing for all”.

Residents were urged to embrace healthier lifestyles by attending the free, family-friendly events which were designed to promote physical activity, community connection and lifelong wellness habits, a government spokeswoman said.

Kim Wilson, the Minister of Health, added: “Celebrating Wellness in 2025 is an opportunity to build a healthier you, a stronger family and a more connected community.

“Events like these bring families, co-workers and neighbours together in ways that strengthen both individual and population health.

“By making wellness accessible, fun and social, we encourage healthier lifestyles that benefit all of Bermuda.

“Join us in making wellness a shared priority and let’s inspire each other to live our healthiest, happiest lives.”

The events will begin on September 23 with Dancing in the City from 5.30pm to 7pm at the Bermuda marquee sign on Front Street.

The lively, line-dancing session, to be led by Wanda Maxwell, will feature easy-to-follow moves suitable for all ages and skill levels. No registration is required.

On September 24, Family Fitness Fun will take place from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at Victoria Park.

Families are invited to enjoy fun castles, refreshments, group exercises and interactive games in a joyful, inclusive setting.

The celebration continues with a Corporate Fitness Challenge the next day which will run from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at Barr’s Bay Park.

The high-energy event encourages co-workers to team up for Xtreme Games, group fitness activities and wellness challenges that promote teamwork and reduce stress. Teams can have a maximum of eight participants.

Registration is required by September 19 for this event and forms are available through a link on the Government’s website.
