Clinic gives free information sessions on haemodialysis
Bermuda Home Dialysis Services is hosting two free information sessions this week for residents living with chronic kidney disease.
The clinic, which offers kidney dialysis treatment, invited members of the community including patients, caregivers and family members to learn about the benefits and flexibility of home haemodialysis.
The sessions will speak to how the procedure can improve quality of life, support independence and provide safe, effective treatment in the comfort of home.
Irena Ashton, a registered nurse and the founder of Bermuda Home Dialysis Services, said: “Chronic kidney disease affects many families in Bermuda, and we’re committed to supporting our community by offering new options that empower patients.
“Home haemodialysis provides a safe, convenient way for people to manage their treatment and maintain their independence.”
Patients and caregivers on home dialysis receive training and support from BHDS, as well as regular follow-ups and home visits to monitor progress and provide hands-on assistance when required.
The free home haemodialysis information sessions are scheduled for Thursday.
There are two sessions — one in-person at 2pm and one online at 6pm.
Interested participants can register at www.kidneycare.bm.
Anyone unable to attend can schedule a private consultation by e-mailing information@kidneycare.bm or calling 295-8999.
