The Bermuda Hospitals Board has called on people with ‘O’ negative blood to donate as stocks of the type are running low.

It said that donors and potential donors can call 236-5067 to make an appointment with the Bermuda Blood Donor Centre, which is located at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

The centre is open Monday through Thursday from 8.30am to 2.30pm and on Friday from 8.30am to 1pm. It is closed on weekends and holidays.

While appointments are preferred, the BHB said walk-ins are welcomed.

Anyone who is unsure about their blood type but who is willing to donate was asked to contact the centre on 236-5067.

The centre can be contacted via e-mail at blood.donor@bhb.bm or on WhatsApp at 533-9553.

The BHB thanked the community for helping to make sure that it can continue to save lives.
