Health ministry warns of baby formula products recalled

The Ministry of Health has warned of an “urgent recall” of infant milk and milk formula because of possible contamination with cereulide toxin, which is released by certain strains of bacteria.

Several of the 15 recalled Cow and Gate and Aptamil products were known to be available for sale in Bermuda.

Environmental health officers held inspections this morning and removed affected products from shelves in several stores.

The toxin causes nausea, vomiting and abdominal cramps.

Parents and caregivers who bought the recall products were strongly advised not to feed them to infants and instead return them to the shop.

According to the Ministry of Health, a full refund will be provided, with or without a receipt.

Customers can visit cgbabyclub.co.uk to see which numbers were included in the recall or contact Cow and Gate through the same website for further assistance.
