Stewart scores four in ten-goal thriller

Andrea Cann scored a brace as Bluebirds beat Wildcats 3-2 in the Women's B division last weekend.

Cann opened the scoring the eleventh minute before adding a second early in the second half. Wildcats pulled a goal back through Alecia Holder in the 48th minute.

Kris Soares dashed any the thoughts of a Wildcats comeback when she followed up a long-distance shot that rebounded into her path.

Maria Pichery brought Wildcats back within one goal but with only a few moments remaining, it would be too little too late. Ravens beat Canaries 2-0 thanks to goals from Mollie O'Donnell and Aleisha Hollis. Budgies and Swallows could not be separated in a ten-goal thriller.

Liz Stewart helped herself to four goals for Budgies.

Keishae Robinson put Budgies ahead in the third minute, only for Joanna Heaney to level matters four minutes later. Stewart scored the next three goals to give Swallows a 4-1 lead.

Robinson scored her second in the 34th before Francesca Cacace pulled a goal back for Swallows.

Stewart grabbed her fourth only to see her side's two-goal advantage be washed away by Vanessa Paulos and Jaselle Smith to draw the match.

Bluebirds defeated Longtails 3-0 courtesy of goals from Liz Twite, Nikki Murray-Mason and Lauren Patterson.
